Job References - Top Seven People to Use
No one ever knows who to use for job references. Read on for the top ten people to use:
1. Past Employers - Your Supervisor
2. Current Employer - Your Supervisor (Use only if you don't mind if your current employer knows you are seeking opportunities elsewhere or you could jeopardize your current position!)
3. Clients - Use clients if you are a freelancer or have worked for clients in the past.
4. Volunteer Work Supervisor - if you volunteer, anyone you worked for can be a job reference.
5. Anyone you've worked for, even if not in a truly professional setting. This may include someone you housesat for, wrote their resume, watched their children, etc.
6. Coworkers - use only if you absolutely can't use a supervisor as a reference.
